COMMUNITY SERVICE
The following Committees are under the direction of Alex Peltzer

Anti Crime & Violence
- Support local service projects and efforts to decrease community crime and violence.
- Utilize club members, law enforcement and other community service organizations to identify needs and where Rotary efforts can have the most value and effect.
- Help arrange club programs that inform club members about personal and community safety.

Community Service Projects
- Develop and implement projects to meet needs of local residents and Visalia community.
- Partner with other organizations as needed to maximize the efforts and benefit of Rotary involvement in meeting community needs.
- Utilize the Rotary District and RI Matching Grant process for major community projects.

Environment & Tree City
- Support and participate in projects that enhance Visalia’s designation as “Tree City, USA”.
- Help seek and organize club member involvement in local programs to clean and protect the environment.

Good Citizen Recognition
- Give one or more Good Citizen Awards annually to a local community member(s) who have exhibited exemplary community service.
- A "Paul Harris Fellowship" presented by the club to the honoree can be part of the recognition designation and presentation.

Literacy
- Support literacy awareness and projects in Visalia Schools and local community through the efforts of club members, educators, libraries, and community literacy partners.
- Lead, support, and coordinate Rotary efforts to maximize the effectiveness of the “Dictionary Day” effort in local elementary schools.
