YOUTH EXCHANGE SCHOLARSHIP

Youth Exchange Scholarship is a program: for young men and women between the ages of ages of 15 and 18½; to spend an academic year of High School; in a foreign country.

Visalia Rotary gives a scholarship to a student each year to live with host families, and attend a school in one of approximately 70 countries.

The program aims to promote peace and inter-country understanding, while providing a challenging and enriching experience. The scholarship offers the student: a new culture; a new language; new international friends; personal growth and maturity; the opportunity to teach others about your country; a broader view of the world.

But we don't say its a year of your life... It's a life in a year!

Each year we recruit applicants from May to November for the following year.

This is the second largest program that Rotary supports. Rotary is now approaching sending 9000 students abroad each year. The Scholarship is a one-for-one program meaning that for every student we take out we host a student from a foreign country. If you have questions about hosting a student click here

Since there is more information than can be posted here we thought we would give you a great place to start below.
